Martha Robinson

I am a 1984 honours graduate in illustration from the Ontario College of Art and Design. Since graduating I have worked for a wide variety of corporate and small business clients covering a multitude of subjects, media and styles in diverse industries.

Watercolour, gouache and acrylic are my primary media with forays into pen and ink, linocut, gouache resist, pencil and collage. Types of assignments range from 10' by 10' backdrops to corporate Holiday greetings cards and calendars for GM, Labatt's and the CNIB, to children's wallpaper design.

I have ten years experience freelancing for wallcovering and textile clients with recent experience including full time work in a small design studio.

Throughout my career I have continued to teach watercolour and general art programmes privately and through schools and colleges, starting with a two year observational drawing class at OCAD and most recently through locally based private classes.

Each fall I can be found cowside at the Royal Winter Fair, where my love of portraiture draws me back every year to paint Ayrshires and Simmentals, and all manner of sheep and goats. The work produced at the Royal has been the basis for two individual exhibitions, domestic and the rural seen. It has also been included in gallery showings in Toronto and Northumberland and has been entered in competitive shows in Canada and the United States.
